17th June 2007 :: A World First ! The 3 highest courses in Britain played in a day for Cancer Research UK.
Four keen golfers, Paul, Neil and Andrew Hart and Dewi Morris have set a new record “first” by playing 18 holes at each of the highest golf courses in Scotland, England and Wales in 21 hours, 40 minutes and 31 seconds in aid of Cancer Research.
“This was an amazing golfing experience with every club showing us wonderful hospitality and our sponsors have been very supportive,” said Paul Hart. “We are all exhausted but very pleased to have completed this unique challenge in aid of Cancer Research UK. We still have a lot of fundraising to do to make sure we achieve our targets but we are well on the way.”

16th June 2007 :: Let the Challenge Begin !
The planning is all but over, the logistics in place,our sponsors have been fantastic and its now time to get on with the challenge. The weather could be a problem in Scotland with low cloud and rain for Saturday evening, which means 18 holes playing in fog! Thankfully the weather is set to get better as we head south but after a week of severe weather warnings from the MET Office it's going to be fun! As someone said, "there's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing!" |
 18th May 2007 :: Challenge team returns home from Marbella training camp.
Paul, Neil, Andrew Hart and team coach and father, John Hart have returned home from a rigourous week of training and competitive golf in the hot, hilly and often challenging conditions of Marbella's finest golf courses. "Without a doubt, the Marbella Golf and Country Club was our favourite course", commented Neil Hart, "We played some great golf and met some great people too. Thanks to John Harrington for his kind donation of 100 Euros to Cancer Research UK. It all helps." The competitive element of the training included a two round stableford competition resulting in Paul Hart retaining the "Hart Masters" red jacket and trophy for another year. "He was lucky", said Andrew Hart who came second 2 points adrift, "it was all very close but I think Paul deserved the win. Next stop Leadhills in Scotland". |

 13th April 2007 :: Andy Hart visits Leadhills for a pre-challenge sneak preview
This is a super little course hewn out of the local hills and kept going by its 80 loyal members. On the day I dropped by, the sun was shining and the only traffic on the course were 6 sheep looking for a spot to graze. Leadhills, while short at just over 2000 yards is a tricky course and local knowledge of the terrain would be a real bonus. Keep the big dog driver in the car, you wont need it. The club is desparately short of funds and would appreciate any help that could be offered. The scenery is stunning so be careful you don't lift your head to admire the view. Can't wait to play here.

 25th March 2007 :: Training starts with Reading Half Marathon
Paul Hart took his endurance training seriously by competing in the recent Reading Half Marathon.
Paul finished the 13 miles run in a respectable 2:00:46. After the race Paul gasped "The 3peaksgolf challenge is going to be tough. 10 miles of golf courses and another 3 miles of walking between shots and holes makes it another half marathon so I think this is a great way to train. Pity I left my clubs behind."

We will generate 290 kgs of CO2 in completing this challenge
We have calculated the CO2 emissions we will generate during the travel phase of this challenge and decided to offset them by planting a few trees. While this may not be the perfect solution, its making a start so do your own calculations at the link below.
